(No headstone; information obtained from his death certificate which shows him as dying at the Lorain County Infirmary and being buried in “Medina Cemetery”. Records for Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina, Ohio show no record of him buried there. The December 25, 1928 edition of the Medina County Gazette (page 6) says that he was buried at N.W. Lafayette Cemetery. His death certificate also tells that Philip and Elizabeth Ault are his parents so he would likely be buried on this lot.)

Hannah, July 27, 1851 – July 28, 1851
Josiah, November 19, 1852 – 1867

(The book titled Pioneer Recollections of the Early 30’s and 40’s in Sandusky County, Ohio by James Mitchell Bowland tells us about these members of the Bowman family (pg. 423). It mentions that Daniel and Caroline had 14 children of which only nine were still living. It then mentions the deceased as being Mary, John, Joshua, George, and one who died in infancy. George has a tombstone as listed above but the other four do not. Several Rootsweb listings provide the given dates and say that they were buried in this cemetery although their source is not known. Joshua is listed as Josiah in the 1860 Lafayette census. Daniel and Caroline were married in 1842 and always lived in Lafayette so it is certainly likely that these four children were also buried here on this lot.)

REED
Ines A., daughter of E., died January 12, 1891, aged 3 months

(No headstone can be found here for either of these girls. The information on Leoa May Reed was obtained from her death certificate which verifies that she was buried in this cemetery. The information on Ines A. Reed was obtained from her death record and the January 30, 1891 edition of the Medina County Gazette (page 4) which tells of her burial in this cemetery as well. Leoa’s name is inscribed on a headstone in Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina, Ohio. Records for that cemetery show that she was reinterred there in 1922 to be buried with her mother. Interestingly, Ines Reed’s name does not appear on that stone with the rest of the family and they have no record of her ever being moved there.)
