Note that the spelling of her first name is different on each stone. Her name also appears on a headstone with her husband and his other wives in the Old Medina Cemetery in Medina, Ohio. ALSO KNOWN TO BE BURIED HERE…

PELTON
Infant daughter of P & L, who died Nov. 3, 1830 – taken from Wolcott’s inscriptions for this cemetery; no headstone can be found now.

BADGER
Nancy, wife of Austin, died Mar. 5, 1849, aged 47y – taken from the MCGS book inscriptions; no headstone can be found now. Her name appears on a headstone with her husband and his other wives at the Old Medina Cemetery in Medina, Ohio. The inscription confirms that she is buried in Montville, Ohio.

SMITH
“In memory of Francis R.”, son of R.B. & M.E., died Oct. 18, 1845, AE. 15m – taken from Wolcott’s early Montville burials list. A brother by the same parents who died the same year within a few days is buried here. We assume this child would be also.

FORMERLY BURIED HERE…

SMITH
Albert, son of Linus & Julia, born 1855, died July 13, 1862 – his body was eventually reinterred in his father’s burial vault on the family property. It was later stolen from that vault but recovered. He is now buried in Spring Grove Cemetery (Section 4, Lot 104); having been moved there along with his parents in 1894. We can assume he was originally buried here since the burial vault was not built until 1879.
